Morning Sun Vineyard

A Volcanic Ridgeline on Sonoma Mountain

Perched high on a ridgeline in the Sonoma Mountain AVA, the Morning Sun Vineyard is a sustainably farmed gem with soils composed almost entirely of volcanic ash. This high-elevation, hillside site is ideal for late-ripening varieties like Barbera, which thrive in vineyard blocks facing the northern end of Bennett Valley—ironically basking in warm afternoon sunlight.

Italian History in Sonoma

The Morning Sun Vineyard carries a legacy rooted in Italian varietals. Weathered signposts still dot the landscape, marking where Nebbiolo and Dolcetto once flourished, grown exclusively for the Sebastiani family. While much of the vineyard has since been grafted over to more commercially popular varieties, a terraced parcel of Pinot Grigio and a few cherished rows of Barbera continue to honor its Italian heritage.
